Bakersfield, CA — Today Vince Fong announced that Tehachapi Mayor Susan Wiggins has endorsed his campaign for the 34th Assembly District.
“As someone who has lived in East Kern County my entire life, I am thrilled to endorse Vince Fong for Assembly because he is clearly dedicated to serving our community,” stated Mayor Wiggins, when asked of her support. “I know for a fact that Vince will work each and every day to find solutions to the biggest issues facing Tehachapi and Kern County. We could not ask for a better person to represent us in Sacramento.”
Prior to her election to the City Council, Wiggins worked for the Mojave Unified School District and following her retirement, was later elected to serve on the school board. During her career, Wiggins also worked on the Space Shuttle Program in Palmdale and the B-1 Program at Edwards Air Force Base. She has served on the boards of the East Kern Airport District, East Kern Collaborative, and Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Park District. Wiggins also served as the past Vice Chairman of the Tehachapi Collaborative — a non-profit dedicated to coordinating community resources and humanitarian services.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with Susan over the years and I’m incredibly thankful for her support,” stated Fong. “Kern County is made up of some truly amazing individuals who have dedicated their lives to bettering our communities, which is exactly why I want to go to Sacramento and ensure that their voices are heard.”
Fong has served as the District Director to House Majority Leader and Congressman Kevin McCarthy for almost 10 years, managing public policy issues for the region — working to create jobs, making commonsense reforms, and fighting to improve the quality of life for the area’s neighbors and families.
As an Assemblyman, Fong will continue to advocate for common-sense policies that create jobs and strengthen the local economy while ensuring that public safety remains a priority.
