Bakersfield, CA — Today Vince Fong announced that Taft Mayor Randy Miller has endorsed him for his race for the 34th Assembly District.
Mayor Miller has served on the Taft City Council since 2002 and is currently in his 4th term. Miller is a well-respected community member and recognized for his extensive involvement in both civic and volunteer organizations, as well as his military service in the US Navy, which earned him a Purple Heart during his duty.
“We need more people serving in the State Assembly like Vince Fong. Vince has always been a real friend to the needs and concerns of Taft and the whole Westside. There is no doubt he has the experience, vision and dedication to represent Kern County in Sacramento,” said Mayor Miller. “Vince understands the importance of getting people back to work and making California more job-friendly, which is exactly the kind of common sense we desperately need in the State Capitol.”
Fong’s campaign is already showing strong momentum since he first announced in January, and has earned the support of a substantial number of community leaders and elected officials.
Fong has served as the District Director to House Majority Leader and Congressman Kevin McCarthy for almost 10 years. During his time with McCarthy, Fong has managed public policy issues for the region, working to create jobs, making commonsense reforms, and fighting to improve the quality of life for the area’s neighbors and families.
As a State Assemblyman, Fong will continue to advocate for common-sense policies that create jobs and strengthen the local economy while ensuring that public safety remains a priority.
