Bakersfield, CA – Taxpayer advocate and Vice Chair of the California State Board of Equalization George Runner has endorsed Republican Vince Fong in his campaign for California State Assembly.
A former State Assemblyman and Senator, Board Member George Runner has dedicated his decades long career in public service to advocating for tax relief for California’s businesses and working families. Recently, Runner has spent a considerable amount of his time leading the effort to repeal the state’s fire fee tax and provide relief for rural property owners.
“Those who care about low taxes and government accountability should look no further than Vince Fong,” stated George Runner. “He will be a strong ally in the effort to protect hardworking families and struggling businesses from job killing tax-and-spend policies. Vince has my unwavering support.”
Vince Fong was born and raised in Bakersfield and received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and master’s from Princeton University. Vince has served as the District Director to House Majority Leader and Congressman Kevin McCarthy for nearly a decade, where he has worked to promote economic growth and energy independence throughout the region.

In addition to his work with McCarthy, Vince has spent a countless number of hours volunteering for local organizations. He is a former board member for Goodwill Industries of South Central California, elected member of the Kern County Republican Central Committee, and lifetime member of the NRA. He currently serves on the boards of the Jim Burke Education Foundation and Honor Flight County where he works to send WWII, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans to Washington, DC to see their memorials.
As an Assemblyman, Fong will continue to advocate for business friendly policies that create jobs and promote economic growth throughout the state.
