Bakersfield, CA— Community leader and State Assembly candidate, Vince Fong is proud to have the endorsements of Ridgecrest Mayor Peggy Breeden and Kern County Supervisor Mick Gleason.
“Vince and I have always worked well together on issues that impact Ridgecrest and the Indian Wells Valley,” said Gleason. “I know first hand Vince’s commitment to Ridgecrest, China Lake and our military, and we are going to make a great team when he is in the Assembly.”
Gleason has been a fixture in the area for many years. Prior to being elected to the Kern County Board of Supervisors, he served in the military for 27 years – retiring as a Captain and Commanding Officer of Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.
“When Ridgecrest residents have needed a leader and an advocate, Vince has always been there,” said Mayor Peggy Breeden. “He is dependable and authentic, these are rare traits in politics and reasons I believe Vince is the right choice for Assembly.”
Fong has served as the district director to Congressman McCarthy for nearly a decade, managing public policy issues for the region. Born and raised in Bakersfield and a graduate of West High School, Vince went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a master’s from Princeton University before returning home to work for the residents of Kern County.
“I am running for Assembly to ensure that military communities like ours have a strong voice in Sacramento and I look forward to continue working with the people of Ridgecrest and the Indian Wells Valley to accomplish this goal,” said Fong. “Ridgecrest is a community centered on patriotism, service to others and commitment to country, and those values are what will guide me.”
Vince Fong is running for California’s 34th Assembly District to replace the termed-out Assemblymember Shannon Grove.
