Bakersfield, CA – Community leader Vince Fong has announced the endorsement of Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner in his campaign for State Assembly.
Scrivner was elected to the Kern County Board of Supervisors in 2010, and served as Chairman of the Board in 2012. Prior to being elected to the board, Scrivner served for six years on the Bakersfield City Council.
“Kern County is a unique place to live and raise a family, with so much opportunity to grow,” Scrivner said. “Vince understands what makes our region special, as well as the obstacles we need to overcome in order to thrive. We couldn’t ask for a better representative to send to Sacramento.”
A Bakersfield native, Vince grew up attending local public schools and quickly developed a passion for positively affecting his community. As the District Director for House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Vince has been at the forefront of the fight to encourage small business growth and create job opportunities for the region.
“I am running for the State Assembly so that I can be a strong advocate for the Central Valley and our values,” Fong responded. “That’s why it has been incredibly humbling to have received the support of so many community leaders across Kern County. It’s an honor to have received Zack’s endorsement and I look forward to working with him for years to come.”
In addition to his work with McCarthy, Vince has spent a countless number of hours volunteering for local organizations. He is a former board member for Goodwill Industries of South Central California, formerly elected member of the Kern County Republican Central Committee, and lifetime member of the NRA. He currently serves on the boards of the Jim Burke Education Foundation and Honor Flight Kern County where he works to send WWII, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans to Washington, DC to see their memorials.
A Republican, Vince is running for the 34th California State Assembly District.
