Bakersfield, CA— Community leader and candidate for Assembly, Vince Fong has received the endorsement of the California State Sheriffs’ Association (CSSA).
Formed with the intent of providing California sheriffs with one unified, effective voice, the CSSA has helped to enhance public safety throughout the state by increasing the level of communication between departments and improving training standards.
“We appreciate Vince’s commitment to public safety and service for the residents of Kern County as well as the State of California,” said CSSA President and Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood. “Our organization is pleased to endorse his candidacy. We look forward to working together and tackling the issues facing our state for a stronger, safer future.”
Born and raised in Kern County, Fong has spent the last decade advocating for policies to lower taxes, create more jobs, and make Kern County a safer place to live, work and raise a family.
Clearly, local and statewide public safety leaders have recognized his hard work because over the last six months, Vince’s campaign to replace the termed-out Shannon Grove has earned the endorsements of Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood and District Attorney Lisa Green, as well as Crime Victims United and the Kern County Prosecutors Association.
Vince Fong’s dedication to the community that he has always been proud to call home goes beyond his responsibilities in the office. He has served as a board member for Goodwill Industries of South Central California and an elected member of the Kern County Central Committee. He is also a board member for the Jim Burke Education Foundation and Honor Flight Kern County, where he works to send WWII, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans to see their memorials.
