Zero trains. $200 billion. Still not done.

I recently sat down with Fox Business to talk about the biggest boondoggle in California history: high-speed rail.
In 2008, voters were promised a $33 billion bullet train connecting San Francisco to Los Angeles, up and running by 2020.
It’s 2026. There is not one mile of usable track. Not one train.
And the price tag? It’s ballooned to $200 billion, nearly a 400% increase over what voters approved. California has already burned through $15 billion with nothing to show for it.
Here in the Central Valley, we’ve paid the real price: farmland torn up, neighborhoods split apart, all while our local roads and bridges crumble from neglect.
This isn’t infrastructure. It’s a monument to government waste.
We can see the monument when we drive on I-5 in Fresno.
I’ve been fighting this every step of the way. I pushed for the accountability that led the Trump administration to finally pull the plug on federal funding for this train wreck. As I told Fox Business: “Californians were promised a completed rail 6 years ago. Today we’ve spent billions and billions, for a total of zero trains.”
Sacramento wants to keep pouring your tax dollars into this hole. I want to stop it — and redirect resources toward infrastructure that actually works for Central Valley families.
